Top 20 Free Article Directories!
One way of link building that I have found very successful is to write for other sites, more specifically article directories. There are article directories with extremely high page rank and they receive vast amounts of traffic daily, by submitting some short articles to these sites you can capitalise on the high traffic they receive and get yourself some dofollow backlinks!

What about the duplicate content penalty?
I’m not going to digress about my opinion on the ‘duplicate content penalty’. But if you do believe there is such a thing then the best thing for you to do would be either modify your posts when submitting to directories, or write complete new posts like I do.

Submitting will take ages, is there a faster way?
Fortunately there is, a much faster and more effective way to submit your articles. Article Marketer will blast your article out to 67,252 people and 5,959 sites. Nice list Danny. Do you do a lot of article marketing yourself? In my experience EzineArticles blows away the competition in terms of traffic generation.

I disagree. Buzzle gives me WAY more traffic than Ezine. I think it is because Ezine is over populated.

I used to submit to article directories but stopped because making each submission different and unique is so time consuming. But recently I read that there is no such thing as duplicate content. So I might start posting to them again.
Just for my interest, do you make them different or you submit the same article to all of these directories.

I would probably submit the article to ezine, wait for about a month then submit the same article to all the rest.

I have received conflicting comments about the duplicate content. This is my take and I hope someone corrects me if I am wrong. You can send your own article to different directories. Just do not use it as a page on your blog or website.
