Are you using article marketing as a traffic strategy to getting more visitors to your blog? Or are you using article marketing solely for affiliate marketing? Either way, you are probably losing out on tons of traffic and money because you are probably doing it all wrong.
The Next Level
A year ago I discovered this method through trial and error, and it has increased my traffic, article views, and money that I make from article marketing by almost 50%. Let you know that I only submitted my articles to 20 directories.
The method that I’m about to explain to you, you probably already seen done numerous ways, but I think this is by far the best. Especially due to the transition that article marketing is making because of web 2.0 tactics. So sit back and take in all of the information I am about to tell you about.
STEP BY STEP GUIDELINE TO ARTICLE MARKETING
Step 1: Write the article
This is an obvious step that I am not going to go into great depth about. Most people know that when you write an article, you need to target the article towards the keywords or the product that you are trying to promote. I don’t feel that it is necessary to count how many times that you use the keywords in the article, as long as you have them towards the front of the introduction paragraph and in the article title, you should be just fine. The last thing I want to mention about writing the article is the length. The length of the article should be no less than 300 words because that is the minimum that most article directories use.
Step 2: Create a couple variations of the same article
This is the step that most people are not doing. Back in the old article marketing days, you did not have to do this step because Google was not worried about duplicate content. The days have changed! Today Google sees having duplicate content as being bad because during the Google Adsense craze, many people created one page mini sites using unoriginal content for the sole propose of making money off of adsense. Google quickly picked up on this and changed their algorithms immediately. The key to this step is creating about five different versions of your one article. This is easier than it may sound taking you an extra 10 minutes, but trust me it will be well worth it. I would suggest having five different titles, introductions, and conclusions. By doing this, you will have five different unique articles all for the price of one.
Step 3: Submit your articles to the directories
Once you have your five variations of your article, it is now time to submit them to the article directories. I would recommend doing this manually, but if you want to choose the automation route that is totally fine also. Just make sure you choose a service that submits your articles individually to each directory. You don’t want to get banned by the article directories for using black hat tactics. Take your five articles and submit them equally to the directories. Example: If I submitted to only 20 directories, I will only submit each article a total of four times. To see the list of the article directories that I submit to, please visit my free article directories post.
Step 4: Create buzz for your articles
The last step is where most people stop. If you stopped at the last step, you are missing out on a ton of traffic and money. This step is so critical to why article marketing can be so powerful today unlike the past. Once the directories pick up your articles, it is time to create some buzz. To do this, you simply take the article’s directory link (example: ezinearticle.com/yourarticle) and submit it to the social bookmarking sites that I have listed on this post. By doing this, you are creating tons of back links to the original article’s url.
Step 5: Mention article in a blog post
Warning: DO NOT post your articles to your blog if you submit them to article directories. Google will see this as duplicate content and you will get punished for it. After all of the steps above are complete, it is time to mention the article in a post. When you write a post that is related to the topic of your article, link to the article in your post by again using the article’s directory url. Once again, creating more back links to your article.
Step 6: Buzz your post page
This is the final step that you need to take to successfully complete article marketing. Just like you did on step 4, but now you are actually submitting your blog post to the same social bookmarking sites. Creating back links to both your article and blog post.
That’s it; you have just done article marketing the right way. You should be very proud of yourself. Feel free to let me know how you feel about this strategy and if I need to add any steps. I look forward to your comments.

Indeed very interesting technique, as it doesn’t create duplicate articles around the web, and is it creates term related links to your site. It seems this link building scheme can bring a lot of good link juice. The only negative point could be a lot of time needed to accomplish all of these steps, but it is fact that results can come only after hard work.
I really love your step 2, its usually called article spinning, you spi out various articles from one with different title and get the words out, that interesting! thanks for the post..

We’ve had huge success with article marketing. One big advantage is the links from the weaker directories when these directories scrape the more popular directories like ezinearticles. The links from these scraper directories are low quality, but they are still links.

My problem with article marketing is that i’m not a writer. I mean I cannot write in a good way though I can speak clearly. If only there is a video directory like article directories, then I think that would be great. Then I can do video marketing.

That’s interesting.. but I’m wondering how getting more popularity to your articles in the directory helps? Most users just get the article through searching, what does it matter if it’s popular on the actual directory?
