November Case Study – Blog Contest!

by Danny Cooper on November 1, 2008

After the great success of last months case study, and the great response from you guys. It’s time to do it all over again!

Believe me when I say you guys are really gonna get something out of this case study, in the past I have done all the work and let you reap all the rewards, in this case study that is still going to happen, but in addition to you also winning tonnes of prizes!

So you’re probably wondering what these prizes are huh? Well here they are, sorted accordingly to there value.

I can hear it now, “Danny how do I win these awesome prizes?!”
Well, there are many ways you could win a prize, some easier than others. To make this competition completely fair I am going to run a points system, each point is worth 1 entry. At the end of the competition all the entries will be entered into random.org and the winners shall be chosen!

“How do I get points?!”

Points can be achieved in many different ways:

The person who comes up with the most creative way to promote the contest gets 10 Points!

Write a follow up to any of my posts – 5 points

Blog about the contest (min 150 words) – 5 points

Top referring blog – 4 points

Best comment of the month – 4 points

Top commentators at the end of the month – 2 points each

Link to this post from anywhere on your blog – 2 points

Follow me on Twitter and tweet this post – 2 Points

Become my fan on Technorati – 1point

Comment on this blog – 3 comments = 1 point

Stumble this post – 1 point

Subscribe by email – 1 point

Also throughout the month I shall be posting ’secret entries’ which will allow you to get a few more entries into the draw!

“How will I know how many points I have”?

Each sunday I shall be releasing a round-up post of what happened in the competition that week, including how many points each person has.

“Any rules I should know about?”

  1. Each entrant can only win one prize
  2. The blog on which you post about, or link to the contest on, must be atleast one month old.
  3. Each entrant can only do each thing once, apart from commenting
  4. Contest begins today – 1st November, and the winners will be announced on 1st December.
  5. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone who cheats in any way.

Lets Get GOING!

That’s right, take action now, stay ahead of the crowd, and win some great prizes to boost your online success!

Alright Danny Boy, you got me interested in your contest. Those are some really great prizes. You really came up with some different offerings that should be really cool to the winners. I have to run now, but I will start my entries this weekend.

Good stuff and good luck!

Thanks Freddie, I was bored of the old ‘125 ad spots and links’ so I decided to actively seek out UNIQUE prizes that can really help bloggers.

3 Shoto Azikuri November 1, 2008 at 4:03 pm

Hey Danny, I can see this one working for you as well

Definitely gonna do most of the points to get as many entries as I can.

Just a heads up, I’m not sure Brian owns SiteFlipU anymore – I saw it sold on SitePoint a few days ago for $35,200 (pretty nice figure, heh?)

I am already subscribed, already following you on Twitter and tweeted the post, will continually comment on the blog and will be in top commentators

Good luck (and when are we seeing the results of last months case study?)

Wow I didn’t know about SiteFlipU being sold, but I suppose it should be expected of Bryan!

The results of last months study are being posted on Wednesday, I have all the stats ready, I’m just forming them into a post now :)

Hey Danny

Didn’t you receive my last email? I couldn’t possibly do all the reviews as I’m not only sponsoring your contest.

I hope you don’t mind, if the other offer of mine is not good enough then I’m withdrawing it all together…

I’m sorry to inform you right now as I lost my internet connection, so I’m writing this from an internet cafe.

Thanks :)

14 Danny Cooper November 2, 2008 at 11:24 am

Yea, it is pretty lucky that blogging idol has just started, but it’s also unlucky that the surprise is spoilt for some people :(

Some contests can take a lot of time, but in this one there are a lot of things you can do quickly and easily such as tweeting the contest. That way you still have a chance of winning.

27 Desk Coder November 3, 2008 at 7:17 pm

BTW, can contest winners interchange prizes (eventually) – cos I think some may already own 1 or 2 of the prizes?

Maybe, after reading this and word gets out, some more people will donate prizes so there is more chance to win something!
