November Case Study - Blog Contest!

by Danny Cooper on November 1, 2008

After the great success of last months case study, and the great response from you guys. It’s time to do it all over again!

Believe me when I say you guys are really gonna get something out of this case study, in the past I have done all the work and let you reap all the rewards, in this case study that is still going to happen, but in addition to you also winning tonnes of prizes!

So you’re probably wondering what these prizes are huh? Well here they are, sorted accordingly to there value.

I can hear it now, “Danny how do I win these awesome prizes?!”
Well, there are many ways you could win a prize, some easier than others. To make this competition completely fair I am going to run a points system, each point is worth 1 entry. At the end of the competition all the entries will be entered into random.org and the winners shall be chosen!

“How do I get points?!”

Points can be achieved in many different ways:

The person who comes up with the most creative way to promote the contest gets 10 Points!

Write a follow up to any of my posts - 5 points

Blog about the contest (min 150 words) - 5 points

Top referring blog - 4 points

Best comment of the month - 4 points

Top commentators at the end of the month - 2 points each

Link to this post from anywhere on your blog - 2 points

Follow me on Twitter and tweet this post - 2 Points

Become my fan on Technorati - 1point

Comment on this blog - 3 comments = 1 point

Stumble this post - 1 point

Subscribe by email - 1 point

Also throughout the month I shall be posting ’secret entries’ which will allow you to get a few more entries into the draw!

“How will I know how many points I have”?

Each sunday I shall be releasing a round-up post of what happened in the competition that week, including how many points each person has.

“Any rules I should know about?”

  1. Each entrant can only win one prize
  2. The blog on which you post about, or link to the contest on, must be atleast one month old.
  3. Each entrant can only do each thing once, apart from commenting
  4. Contest begins today - 1st November, and the winners will be announced on 1st December.
  5. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone who cheats in any way.

Lets Get GOING!

That’s right, take action now, stay ahead of the crowd, and win some great prizes to boost your online success!

Your competition is certainly generating some amazing comments and traffic. One of the best examples of running a contest that requires active participation. Well done.

Thank you for the comments :) I try hard to stay on top of my competition so it is enjoyable for all, no point starting it and forgetting about it is there?

Hi Danny,

Hey you’ve got very attractive prizes (although a couple of prizes I just couldn’t figure out what they really mean). That’s what makes a successful blog contest too. I may include a mention on my weekly Link Love posts. Will that get me some points? Good Luck on your contest.
