Are You Ready to have Another Blog
Have you ever thought about how much money you can make from this niche or that niche ? Yes,I have. In the make money online niche, your goal is to make as much money as possible with different niches. And the only way you can do this is to have different blogs for the different niches. If you use only one blog, your visitors would think that you are a confused person i.e. you don’t know what to blog about. Or they might think that you are a greedy person who is trying to stuff your blog with a lot of ads and affiliate programs.
So the only way to be successful is to have different blog. But before you embark on opening another blog, you should think about what would be the success rate of the second blog ? The two main issues you have to deal with are traffic and content.
Traffic Issue
As we all know, traffic is the number one problem of all bloggers. I haven’t seen any blog that deals with blogging tips or make money online tips that hasn’t written about traffic issues. It is because the higher the traffic the higher chance of getting conversions. Your experience from the first blog would help a little bit especially if the second blog has the same or is similar niche as the first blog. But if your new blog has a total different niche, you have to think and plan of how you would drive traffic to the blog
Content Issue
After dealing with traffic issues, you have to think of the content. This might not really be a problem to some people who are copy writers or who have the money to hire freelancers. If you are copy writer or you hire a freelancer, you would be able to get blog posts quickly on your blog. But if you are not or don’t have a copywriter, you would have to spend some couples of hours trying to write a quality post.
Before opening another blog, remember that you have to also maintain the first blog. You have to drive traffic to the blog and also update the blog. If you stop doing any of this, your first blog would slowly die while you new blog would be slowly rise. There is no real metric to measure to give you the green light to open another blog. What I can say is that if you feel comfortable that you can handle two blogs, then go for it.

I second the idea of having another blog however other than the two issues you have mention on your article “traffic” and “content”, one other thing would be the lack of time many of are facing. For most of us there isn’t enough time to accomplish everything with other life responsibilities been there and managing multiple blogs is no easy job so yeah before you embark on opening another blog, you should really think about all these.
I am actually having two blogs on two different niche.. since they are in different niche, I do not link up, but the increase flow is actually different LOL.
for example, my MMO site actually generates more income than specific language music website which has actually less targeted audience.
I actually want to try another one, but so far, two is more than enough for me.. for now, i will build these two sites and will probably expand in the future, I want to get like 100k UV a month… I think once we achieve that mark, it’s easy to get extra blogs.
the bottom line, it’s not easy and sometimes it is not fun. but I do actually enjoy doing two different things because I sometimes got bored when I write on a single blog and I would travel around other blogs and forums to write in other interests such as sports, now I mostly write on my two blogs and I think it has improved the two different audience.
just my 2 cents
I have recently started 4 niche blogs in order to diversify my income. If you only have one blog in a highly competitive niche like for instance internet marketing, you will have a hard time getting traffic and enough sales to pay the bills. When it comes to writing content for niche blogs in areas you don´t know anything about I recommend purchasing articles in the beginning. When you learn about the topic, you can write your own articles. When it comes to getting targeted traffic, I would go for blog commenting and submitting articles to EzineArticles.com.
Trying to manage more than one blog, and by manage I really mean — doing EVERYTHING necessary to get a project off the ground in terms of traffic and sustainable sales, is really really tough. At best, I find that I can have a fully serviced project and maybe one other project going that gets content and some love, but not much more. Doing the links, updates, relationship-building, social networking — there’s so much that goes into a successful blog these days, and the list is always growing or shifting.
Tom – I agree that one has to modify my theory if they are participating competitively in a highly-desired niche. Maybe I should also add that doing this isn’t my full time job, so theoretically were one to be doing this full time, maybe 3 blogs at a minimum would be a good way to go. Curious to know out there among full-time bloggers making money online, what’s the average number of full-time blogs in production…
I’m not sure that higher traffic means higher conversions.
Micro-niche blogs with extremely well targeted traffic can do just as well as high traffic blogs which don’t have targeted visitors
Well you have a pretty good point. though, I believe having another blog in the same niche could result in success as well. You could hire freelancers to do the job for you and basically if you have some funds, you can shred some to acquire targeted traffic through pay per click.
I think having multiple blogs is smart because you shoshould always be looking to diversify and grow. But tending to a blog takes a lot of time. I only have one at the moment and the rest of my sites are mostly on autopilot.
The autopilot idea is key here — having too many projects going all at once I don’t think will pay very big dividends, if they all only get a little bit of time / attention. A recipe for disaster…
I have blogs in completely different niches and it’s very cool when you can write for different themes.
I have enough trouble working on just one blog (and those side projects, too – not blogs, though); although the itch to do one is constantly there. I simply have to focus more on the one I have, so I’m not pulled in too many directions…
Content needs to come before traffic, in my opinion. I never consider a blog to be a major source of income, and therefore never dedicate massive amounts of SEO research into it. I was always a fan of the idea that you should legitimately like what you’re blogging about and have something worthwhile to say, rather than just doing it for a living.
You need to be able to manage your time. If your current project is taking up most of your time it wouldn’t be wise to start another one. That being said if you’re able to find time to start a new blog without neglecting the old one, then definitely go for it!
If you are in the make money industry this is definitely the truth. Creating multiple blogs does work, also, you could leave people with real life examples of a blog that progresses through time, and it does work. This creates trust in your readers almost instantly.

Having multiple blogs can be time consuming, but if they are in different niches, you could come up with content for both of them and they would not effect each other. It would take double the time though.
Unless you are blogging full time creating original content for more than 2 blogs is challenging. However that doesn’t mean that some bloggers don’t succeed at it. With proper time management and discipline multiple sites/blogs are possible, however the risk of spreading yourself too thin is always a concern.

I manage 3 different blogs on 3 different topics. To be honest, I really wonder sometimes, if I’m doing each one justice? I wonder if i would be better served to focus all my efforts on one major blog? Maybe, I’ll give that a try here before long.
