6 Easy Backlinks Which Take Less Than 5 Minutes Each to Build
One of the main reasons people outsource their link building efforts is because of “how link building takes too long”. Well today I am going to try and debunk that myth by teaching you how to build 6 quality back links within 30 minutes!
Social Bookmarking
If you already have an account on your social bookmarking website of choice this will take you under one minute. If not go create an account right now and fill in your profile, that right away is one backlink. Submit one of your pages and you have just scored yourself another link!
Forum Posting
Forums are a great way to not only build relevant links, but also become active in your niches community. A little tip which will help you on your link building quest is that most vBulletin forums allow signatures and are dofollow. A word of warning, many forums are quite tight about people linking out in posts, so try to restrain your link building to your signature.
Dofollow Blog Commenting
One of my favourites here, find a dofollow blog, write a quality comment, job done. For extra cool points return periodically to see if people have replied to your comment.
Emailing a blogger
You know some bloggers in your niche right? Maybe they don’t know about you. Hit them up with an email linking to one of your best knows. Don’t suggest they link to it, if they think it is amazing they will do so anyway.
Submit your feed
Feed aggregators are great, everytime you publish a post they link to it, perfect for getting indexed quickly. Submission is relatively easy too, this should take no longer than 3 minutes. Colin Lahey put together a great list you can use here: RSS Feed Directories
Directory Submission
I admit it, directory submissions are boring, but guess what; they are quick and easy. Regular directories are good but niche specific directories are better, although they can be hard to find and of poor quality, all depends on the niche. Some directories ask for reciprocation, some even ask for payment. Just skip these, it’s not worth it.
There you have it, 6 links within 30 minutes. You have no excuse now guys and gals. Get out there creating those links. If I see any of you with zero backlinks after today I’m coming after you!

Nice list…and thanks for sharing the list of RSS directories. I’ll have to go through that and start submitting.

Directory submission is not fast as you have to sift through the emails and confirm your submissions. I just did it and it takes a lot more that 30 minutes.
It was easy though.

Good basic points there, however to be a success in the web world we really need 100’s (sometimes 1000’s) of high qualtity backlinks. Got any tips on generating a large number of qualtity backlinks?

It’s called time and dedication!
There is a world of difference between building quality backlinks and building fast backlinks. I would say that perhaps the ‘happy medium’ between the two would be to create a contest at your blog and have one of the criteria be to link back to your blog. This way you would have people building (hopefully) quality backlinks to your blog.

Here is another idea: Writing about other bloggers, and then linking back to one of their posts. This can garner a few results such as:
1. Having a trackback within the post of the blogger you just wrote about.
2. Having the blogger notice you via the trackback and come to your blog and either write about your blog in return, or perhaps subscribe to your blog.

That’s a good concise list of points. Directory submissions can be made faster and less boring if you use a submission company and it might just be worth it considering the large amounts of time you’d have to put in doing it yourself.

Hi Danny
Great post, however I have a question (actually 2). I’ve been manually submitting to free directories for the last few weeks. It seems that most of the popular directories have a backlog of directory listing approvals. I’ve only had 1 or 2 actually accepted. Any advice for me?
Also, is it true that google only updates its backlink records every few months. The reason I ask is because, although I have some backlinks, I can’t seem to find them listed in google e.g. link:www.website.com.
Any help would be appreciated.

You have made some great comments here and ones that if folllowed and maintained with provide you with rewards in the future. The thing to remember here though is building your links and adopting a strategy does take time and will not happen overnight. Respectable websites are not generally born within a few months, you need to be loooking long term and patience and hard work will follow.

You should really focus on building quality backlinks, but if if your goal is just to establish backlinks and you don’t care about their relevancy (to the content of your site page), another easy and fast backlink is to ask your friend in your social network to link to your site page from his/her site page.

I was active in a few forums, however after some time I decided to give up… Plenty of people, plenty of ideas. The worst thing is that newbies always come to these forums, ask stupid questions (yes, they could search the web a little deeper and they could also try something themselves). So it ends up as a set of same questions all the time… When will PageRank update, where can I get a good list of free directories and so on. Still the same. Some even talk about crap spamming techniques…
Instead of forums, I now prefer natural links along with working with directories. Natural links need quality content (or unique ideas). Directories still work… although you have to spend a lot of time submitting your site(s) into them. But it still works and it’s still worth it. On the other hand, to become the top1 for a competitive phrase, you need more than just links from directories.

One point about this list that is very important. Make sure that the forums you post on are follow, if not you kind of waste your time!
April 26th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
I have tried most of the tips on this list (effective btw), save for forum posting and emailing a blogger. I’m particularly curious about forum posting. Is there a streamlined approach to avoid a trial and error phase of visiting different forums and finding the right fit? With the many forums out there, it seems like conducting an industry related search will yield gigantic results that you have to sift through first in order to get to the gems. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for vBulletin forums, but is there anything else that might help save time with this tip? Thanks.

Do follow blog commenting, if you really try to add some value to the community and blog through your comments, can add some traffic value. I’ve found this to be true.

Dofollow Blog Commenting is my favorite form of building quality links. I also try to comment on blogs that have the Top Commentator plugin ( like the one right here on linkersblog.com ). It doesn’t matter if the links are Dofollow in the individual posts , just make sure the site has DoFollow enabled in the Top Commentator section.

Yep, these are as easy as backlinks are going to get. The effort required for most of these methods is a matter of filling out a few forms and clicking the mouse a few times. I don’t think the same can be said for creating a compelling site that users will link to on their own.
